The Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement Herbert Murerwa says the government is trying to revive transport challenges by introducing the arrival of Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) buses in Harare, Chitungwiza and Mufakose.

He said the MDC-T run councils have generally failed in their mandate resulting in severe water shortages, failure to collect garbage and massive graft, among other issues.

A number of allegations have been levelled against MDC-T councillors for allegedly being involved in a number of corrupt activities.

The MDC-T last year fired 12 councillors around the country and suspended scores of other party officials on corruption allegations.

Meanwhile, Minister Murerwa said those who were against the land reform have already realised its irreversibility and more than 300 000 of black families benefited.

He commended the empowerment drive and the land reform programme saying more support for the new farmers was needed to improve productivity.
