Air Zimbabwe has introduced its newly acquired jet plane on the Harare-Victoria Falls route in a development that the national airline says will change the face of domestic travel.
The Ambraer ERJ 145 Jet will ply the Harare-Victoria Falls route daily with Bulawayo passengers enjoying two flights.
The time schedule and the reintroduction of the domestic flight is hoped to improve domestic tourism and boost domestic travel.
Air Zimbabwe Public Relations Executive Ms Shingai Taruvinga said it is expected that the introduction of the new plane will improve the airline's domestic market share and service ahead of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly to be held in August.
Passengers on board the ERJ 145 Jet's first flight from Harare to Victoria Falls commended the airline for improving its product compared to what they had been accustomed to adding that if maintained, the development will boost domestic tourism.
The development comes at a time when Zimbabwe is preparing to co-host the UNWTO General Assembly and domestic tourism which had died has been made easier with the introduction of the new baby to the Air Zimbabwe family.
