Opposition political parties' leaders deliberate on election date judgement

The leaders of five political parties in Zimbabwe namely the MDC-T, the MDC, MKD, ZAPU and Zanu Ndonga, met this morning in Harare to deliberate on the recent political developments in the country.
The leaders were, Tsvangirai, Dumiso Dabengwa of ZAPU, Simba Makoni of MKD, Reketeyi Semwayo of Zanu Ndonga and Ediwn Mushoriwa of the MDC.
The leaders noted the ruling of the Constitutional Court made last Friday and affirmed their commitment and readiness to participate in credible, free and fair elections after the implementation of the necessary reforms.
Issues that need to be implemented before free and fair elections are held are among others, the mandatory minimum 30-day voter registration, amendments to the electoral law, that elections are held in a free and fair environment and that serving security service members should not be active political members of any political party.
