STAR FM DJ Munyaradzi Milimo and his accomplices, accused of killing a man they suspected of having an extra-marital affair with his wife, are expected to make a bail application at the High Court on Friday.
Their lawyers argue that the facts on the request for remand form do not link them to the offence.
DJ Munya (32), as Milimo is popularly known, Taurai Janhi (34) and Mohammed Matare (31) are being charged with murder. In a telephone interview yesterday, Mr Mawuwa said they intended to seek a bail consent from the Attorney General's office but failed to do so since the investigating officer was not there.
"We were seeking a consent from the AG's office because there is no link between the accused persons and the commission of the offence. The request for remand form (Form 242) does not disclose the nexus between the accused persons and the crime that is why we wanted to negotiate with the AG's office to avoid making a full bail application at the High Court."
