Tsvangirai meets Tobaiwa Mudede

MDC leader and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai on Wednesday met with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), chairperson, Justice Rita Makarau and the Registrar, Tobaiwa Mudede at his government offices, his spokesman revealed.
Tsvangirai was briefed on the preparedness of the two organisations regarding the voter registration exercise ahead of the next elections.
Addressing the media after the meeting, the Prime Minister's spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka said the meeting was fruitful.
"The Prime Minister was briefed on how far they have gone in handling the concerns of the voters," said Tamborinyoka.
Tamborinyoka said there was need for an intensive voter education exercise ahead of the voter registration. No date has been set on when the 30-day voter registration exercise will start.
During the meeting, Tsvangirai insisted that no members of the public should be disenfranchised during the voter registration exercise.
Justice Makarau said those who failed to register or had their names removed from the voters' roll should approach her office with their concerns.
Mudede said his office was getting ready for the exercise.
