The Movement for Democratic Change leader, Morgan Tsvangirai says he is all for a united front against President Mugabe at the coming elections.
"On unity before elections, I totally agree. Let us set aside our personal interests our personal problems and all unite and put an end to our selfish motives. The time is NOW. My party is seriously committed to that. I am glad that the discussions among some of the key political parties have started but it was only because of this constitutional court ruling.
"I hope that we will be able to move further than just that. At least it serves as an example that when people are determined to unite, to achieve an objective, they will do so," he told a meeting of civic society representatives in Bulawayo.
Tsvangirai added: "People here want us as different political parties to share common ground with regards to the election roadmap as we head for an Extra-Ordinary SADC summit which will certainly be held soon.
"They also want us to go into the election as a united front against the dictatorship. But they warned us against agreeing to participate in an election before crucial electoral reforms are implemented.
"The message from civil society in Bulawayo dovetails with what we agreed to as the country's political parties on Wednesday when MDC-T, the MDC, ZAPU, MKD and ZANU Ndonga leaders put their signatures to a common position paper demanding reforms before elections."
