Mugabe back home from Japan

President Robert Mugabe is back home from Japan via Singapore, where he attended the 5th Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development (TICAD) which ended on Monday.
Mugabe who was accompanied by the First Lady Grace Mugabe and other senior government officials to the conference was welcomed at the Harare International Airport by Vice President Joice Mujuru, Defence Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa, State Security Minister Sydney Sekeramai, Minister of Transport, Communication and Infrastructural Development Nicholas Goche, Justice and Legal Affairs Minister Patrick Chinamasa, service chiefs, Japanese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Yonezo Fukuda and other senior government officials.
While in Japan, Mugabe held bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe were they discussed the resumption of co-operation between the two countries.
He also met with representatives of Japanese companies who expressed interest in investing in Zimbabwe on a larger scale.
Grace Mugabe also attended the international HIV and Aids symposium which was running concurrently with the conference where the first ladies called for an integrated approach in dealing with the pandemic and other communicable diseases.
The 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development ended with the adoption of the Yokohama Declaration and the Action Plan for 2013 - 2017 that defines the new framework of cooperation between Japan and Africa.
