A suspected mentally challenged Harare woman was yesterday crushed to death when she dived into a moving combined goods and passenger train, that was heading towards Chinhoyi.
The incident occurred at the 16-kilometre peg from Harare. Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
"We received information about the death of a woman from Good Hope aged 50 who was struck and killed by a combined goods and passenger train which was proceeding to Chinhoyi."
Chief Supt Nyathi said Constance Mhembere (50) allegedly jumped onto the railway line on seeing the train approaching opposite Biltrans Transport in Mount Hampden.
