Man fined $150 for masquerading as a cop

A Beatrice man was fined US$150 by a Chitungwiza magistrates' court for impersonating a police officer.
John Mukundika (37) of Blackstone Farm and employed as a general worker was convicted of impersonation before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini.
Mukundika will spend one month in prison if he fails to pay the fine.
Appearing for the State, Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa proved that on June 2 and at around 3am, a female member of the neighbourhood watch committee was at Zishiri Farm bar in Beatrice where Mukundika masqueraded as a cop, and he was arrested.
