The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission says there will be no new delimitation of boundaries for this year's harmonised elections to be held before the 31st of next month.

In an interview with ZBC in Harare, ZEC chairperson Justice Rita Makarau said boundaries for the harmonised elections remain as they were for the 2008 elections.

She explained that for some communities who might have been relocated such as the Chiadzwa families, they should either transfer their names to the new wards they are staying or bear in mind that they have to travel to the old wards to cast their ballots.

Justice Makarau revealed that the elections administration body is now working on the selection criteria of external observers.

ZEC will this Wednesday meet other stakeholders such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others involved in working out the criteria of selecting foreign observers.

Justice Makarau said ZEC is aware of sentiments that have been expressed in some political quarters that countries that have imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe are not welcome to observe elections, adding that such factors will be considered in deciding who will monitor Zimbabwe's democratic processes.

The western envoys, including the ambassadors of Spain and Germany, have approached Zanu PF chairman Simon Khaya Moyo asking to be allowed to take part in observing the country's elections.

Zimbabwe's stance is that countries that imposed illegal sanctions should not be allowed to observe her elections.
