An educationist says educational tours to liberation struggle shrines change the way the current crop of school children value their own country, the state media reported on Monday.
Makonde acting district education officer Solomon Katoma said taking children on tours to shrines such as Chimoio and Nyadzonya will go a long way in enhancing the way students appreciate their country's history.
Katana was speaking in Chinhoyi during a send off ceremony for some Chinhoyi High School students who are set to take on a trip to Chimoio in Mozambique this week.
The trip was organised by the school's interact club.
