Chindori Chinhinga declined national hero status

The late Edward Chindori Chinhinga, who died in a car accident on Wednesday last week at Shinje turn-off in Guruve has been declared a liberation war hero instead on national hero.
He will be buried on Wednesday this week at a place to be decided by his family and not at the National Heroes Acre.
The Zanu-PF Mashonaland Central Provincial Chairperson, Dickson Mafios announced the decision by the Politburo today (Monday).
He said his province is happy with the status bestowed on Chininga.
Chinhinga, a former cabinet minister, was Guruve South legislator and was also chairman of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy.
Chininga is survived by his wife, Linda and three daughters.
Mourners are gathered at number 96, Berdford Road, Christonbank, in Mazowe.
