MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai Wednesday met with the SADC Parliamentary Forum at the party headquarters, Harvest House to brief them on the country preparedness of holding free, fair and credible elections.
Speaking after the meeting the head of the seven-member SADC Parliamentary Forum team, said the meeting with Tsvangirai was critical since he is one of the key stakeholders of a political party that will be participating in the coming elections.
"We are here not to make a determination of whether Zimbabwe is prepared to hold credible elections. We are here to make an assessment, an observation on the elections and we have taken note of the issues raised," he said.
He said most of the issues that were raised by the MDC-T leadership are in the public domain and this included issues raised during the last Maputo SADC summit on Zimbabwe.
The MDC is insisting on having media reforms and security sector realignment where the security forces will respect the will of the people and a clean voters' roll.
