Eligible voters continue to flood mobile voter registration centers

Despite the bottlenecks caused by officials in the Registrar General's officials, eligible voters interested in voting in the next elections continue to flood the mobile voter registration centers across the country.
At Mukomberana, Holy Secondary School and Makanya Primary School in Chirumhanzu, Midlands South province, the pace at which the ZEC officials have been serving the voters was slow with a high number of prospective voters failing to register.
The same situation is prevailing in Mberengwa East, Chiundura and Vungu districts.
Some voter registration centres in Zvimba East, Mashonaland West province such as Hilbrew Primary School, where the exercise was supposed to take place today were not operating in the morning as the RG's officials had not yet arrived. Proof of residence for most people is a challenge as village heads are unwilling to issue them.
In Manicaland province, people from Buhera Central who want IDs are being turned away on the pretext that they need to get their fingerprints vetted at KGVI army barracks in Harare before they could be permitted to register to vote.
In Mutare North, soldiers were bused in from Chiadzwa diamond mine to register at the center and were given first preference leaving the local residents stranded.
