Parliament expires, Zimbabwe to be ruled by presidential decree

The Seventh Parliament of Zimbabwe will come to an end at midnight this Saturday (29 June) when legislators' five-year terms expire.
Legal expert, Mr Godwills Masimirembwa says the fact that parliament will cease to operate means the country will be ruled by a presidential decree.
Recently, Clerk of Parliament Austin Zvoma confirmed that his office has officially issued all legislators with letters reminding them that their term of office will end at midnight on the 29th of June.
Legislators in the seventh parliament were elected into office on the 29th of March 2008.
However, they officially started their duties on the 29th of June 2008 after the presidential run-off.
