MDC-T leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai almost failed to complete the nomination process as a presidential candidate today after his legal advisor and representative, Mr Alex Magaisa, pitched up at the Nomination Court without the requisite US$500 fee.
At around 11:30am, Chief Elections Officer Mr Lovemore Sekeremayi called for the MDC-T to pay the fee, but there was no response as no MDC-T representative was present.
A journalist covering the process saved the day by telephoning Mr Magaisa informing him about the gaffe. Mr Magaisa then went to the court without the required US$500.
MDC-T secretary-general Mr Tendai Biti and the party's organising secretary, Mr Nelson Chamisa, arrived later and paid.
