Two armed robbers have been killed in a shootout with the police.
National Police Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed that the two who committed a spate of armed robberies totalling 11 counts that took place around greater Harare and Bulawayo were killed in a shootout with police over the weekend.
She said the two are Golden Magwenju (24) and Joseph Makanuka (20).
Senior Assistant Commissioner Charamba said the public is encouraged to take precautionary measures by ensuring they do not leave any of their doors unlocked in the evenings or even during the day.
She said large sums of money should not be kept in the house safes but deposited in banks.
