ONE of the three suspects who pounced on a man who had alighted from a kombi robbing him of his valuables was arrested after uploading his picture on WhatsApp.
The stolen valuables were worth US$250.
Onias Chisango (25) of Unit N in Chitungwiza reportedly uploaded his picture as a profile on Whatsapp after robbing Andrew Chapatapata of his Blackberry cellphone and cash.
Chisango was later apprehended after Chapatapata was alerted by his friend who downloaded the picture and printed it. They took it to the police where they reported the matter, leading to Chisango's arrest.
According to the indictment papers, on June 2 Chapatapata was coming from town and disembarked from a commuter omnibus at C junction at night. Unbeknown to him Chisango and his other three accomplices still on the run were hiding waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting commuters.
When Chapatapata crossed the road the gang accosted him and whisked him away to a secluded area.
