Tsvangirai forced to hold rally at an open field instead of a stadium

MDC-T president Morgan Tsvangirai was forced Wednesday to hold a rally at an open space near the market stalls instead of Mvurwi stadium, after Zanu-PF supporters took over the venue of the rally to hold netball and soccer matches.
MDC-T had to move to an open space near Mvurwi vegetable market, some 300 metres away from the stadium.
The events were separated by a police van manned by seven officers.
Even though MDC-T had secured police clearance to hold the rally, Zanu-PF supporters deliberately occupied the venue five hours before Tsvangirai was scheduled to address his supporters at midday, effectively blocking MDC-T supporters from gathering inside.
