Disabled woman raped eight times in one night

A 19-year-old Bulawayo woman was raped EIGHT times in one night and later revealed the matter to a relative after she could not bear the pain she was feeling.

The alleged rape started in the night of 21 June and overlapped to the morning of 22 June.

The woman is said to be handicapped.

It is reported that on the day under investigation, the woman was sleeping in her bedroom when her cousin walked in.

The man is said to have creeped into the woman's blankets.

The man is said to have went on to force himself on her.

He fell asleep and woke up later and raped her again and continued doing so throughout the night.

After the forced encounters, the man told her not to tell anyone.

However, in the afternoon of 22 June, the woman could take the pain no more and told a relative.

Her aunt is said to have taken her to a police station where a report was made.

She was then taken to hospital for medical attention.

The man was arrested and hauled before Western Commonage magistrate, Mr Themba Chimiso and was remanded in custody to 18 July.

He is facing eight counts of rape.
