Mugabe must be sent back to Zvimba, say Khupe

Deputy Prime Minister and MDC vice president Thokozani Khupe has said her party will trounce Zanu-PF in July 31 polls sending President Robert Mugabe to rest in his rural home in Zvimba.

Addressing hundreds of MDC supporters at MacDonald Hall in Makokoba suburb in Bulawayo on Wednesday, Khupe said Zimbabweans can not wait for July 31.

"I can tell you with this huge support you are giving us, we have already won the elections and 31 July elections will be just a formality," Khupe said.

"On the 1st of August  Thokozani Khupe,  the daughter of Ronald will be vice president of Zimbabwe and Richard Tsvangirai will be president. Noone will stop us, Mugabe is going out to rest in Zvimba."

Khupe, who was also bidding farewell to Makokoba Constituency, which she held as the Member of Parliament for 13 years said: "the new MDC government will run the country following the new constitution and no one will go hungry."

She said she has handed the seat to State Enterprises minister Gorden Moyo who will contest on an MDC ticket.

Moyo, who is also the MDC chairman for Bulawayo, will lock horns with Zanu-PF's Tshinga Dube.

Moyo also reiterated that Zanu-PF  will not get a single seat in Bulawayo Province.

"Zanu-PF is finished and there is no way they can win any seat in this  province.

"They destroyed industries and killed thousands of people during Gukurahundi massacres in the 1980s," said Moyo.
