The MDC-T leader, Mr Morgan Tsvangirai, has taken a swipe at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission for depriving voters of their right to cast ballots by delaying voting by more than six hours in Masvingo province in the special voting system.

Tsvangirai made the remarks while addressing hundreds of his supporters during an MDC-T which was held at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo.

The MDC-T president called on his supporters to shun violence during the election period.

Tsvangirai took a swipe at civil servants for failing to vote for his party during the 2008 harmonised elections and blamed their poor welfare to that reason.

He also accused the police of selective application of the law on corrupt government officials.

Tsvangirai accused the government of not giving his supporters land as pat of the Land Reform Programme.

The MDC-T leader told his supporters that when elected into power, he will create one million jobs in five years, dualise the Beitbridge–Chirundu road, complete the Batoka hydroelectricity project, improve the health service sector as well as foster international cooperation.

Tsvangirai also took the opportunity to introduce aspiring MDC-T members of the house of assembly, senate, provincial council and women quota within Masvingo province.
