Zimbabwe has been rated by the United Nations World Climate Agency as the most habitable country due to its good weather and climate that is most ideal for tourism.

A recent United Nations World Climate Agency report published this month reveal that Zimbabwe's climate is one of the best in the world with four seasons that do not exist in other countries.

In light of such developments and recognition of good climate suitable for tourism, the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) has invited Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Cde Walter Mzembi to give a keynote address in the 5th IIPT African Conference to be held in Lusaka, Zambia next week.

In an interview, Cde Mzembi said he is happy about the country's ratings.

"We will leverage with such a rating, against the unfavourable conditions and natural disasters that have hit other countries across the globe to lure tourists into the country," he said.

On forth-coming events such as Asambeni in Bulawayo and the Indaba in South Africa, Cde Mzembi said the country will use such opportunities to market itself well.

Cde Mzembi recently won the University of Zimbabwe Manager of the Year Award Public Service in recognition of his contribution and dedication to development and prioritising best practices in management.

Early this year, he was awarded the best African Minister of Tourism of the Year.
