THE body of a Zimbabwean woman, who was allegedly killed by a Pretoria prosecutor three weeks ago, is still lying in a mortuary.
This is because Precious Sibanda's relatives do not have money to transport her body to Zimbabwe for burial.
Since she was found on April 13 her body has been in the government mortuary in Pretoria.
"We need help. Any sort of assistance to help us bury my niece will be highly appreciated," said Sibanda's aunt, Gladys Keswa.
"All we want is to give her a proper funeral but we don't have money," Keswa said.
Sibanda was allegedly killed by state prosecutor Jeffrey Maponya.
It later emerged that Sibanda was a witness in a case against Maponya.
Her body was found in a dustbin outside the Church Street flats in Pretoria where Maponya - who is accused of murder, assault and defeating the ends of justice - lives.
The court heard Sibanda was a witness in a case linked to Maponya and might have laid charges against him. Maponya was denied bail and the matter was postponed to June 28 after the state asked for more time to investigate.
