A staunch Zanu-PF couple attended the rally and the wife went into labour and by the time the rally ended she was getting help from the medical practitioners in attendance.
The Zanu-PF Star Rally that was set for Sakubva Stadium was switched to the more spacious Aerodrome Grounds after the stadium became too small for the party supporters.
Last week a woman died in a stamped which, according to witnesses, was sparked by a scramble for free t-shirts and other campaign regalia during President Robert Mugabe's campaign rally at Chibuku Stadium in Chitungwiza.
Witnesses said that the woman died in a stampede as hordes of people rushed for campaign t-shirts and other party regalia that was being thrown into the crowd. Part of a dura-wall around the ground also collapsed under pressure as the crowds scrambled for the items.
Several other people sustained minor injuries and were treated at the local hospital.
