Mugabe a puppet of the military, says Tsvangirai

MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai claimed Sunday that President Robert Mugabe was a puppet of the military, adding it was a travesty that a man nearly 90 years old and in office for three decades wanted another five years as the country's leader.
Tsvangirai said the vote presented Zimbabweans with a chance to "express their choice between a brutal regime and a peaceful, caring and democratic government".
He claimed that Mugabe had refused to relinquish power despite "being defeated by the MDC in the 2002, 2005 and 2008 elections" because he was a puppet of the country's powerful security services.
A failure to manage its succession politics, Tsvangirai added, had resulted in Zanu-PF being "stuck with an octogenarian whose capacity to run the affairs of this country have become questionable".
He again took a swipe at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) accusing the organisation of "shifting goal posts" regarding the management of Wednesday's vote adding he would register his reservations with the observer teams.
