Olusegun Obasanjo meets Tsvangirai

The Head of the African Union (AU) Electoral Observer Mission, Mr Olusegun Obasanjo paid a courtessy call on Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and held a private meeting on the pending polls.

The former Nigerian president held closed door discussions with Prime Minister Tsvangirai at his Munhumutapa offices.

Mr Obasanjo said since his arrival in the country, he has held discussions with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), members of the civil society and political parties, with a view of ensuring that the harmonised polls are credible, transparent and reflective of the will of the people.

The AU Electoral Observer Mission is in the country to observe the harmonised polls together other regional bodies which include SADC, COMESA, African Carribean and Pacific (ACP) and other individual countries from across the globe.
