Election fever grips Zimbabwe

Election fever has gripped the nation on the eve of the historic day in Zimbabwe as the generality of the people wait to cast their votes to choose a president, National Assembly members and councillors, and put an end to the inclusive government, which has been in place since 2009.
With the harmonised polls upon Zimbabwe to determine the leadership to carry the nation forward for the next five years, one could be forgiven to conclude that the political environment has become hectic.
The situation on the ground however tells an entirely different story and paints a different picture altogether.
Some of the registered voters are happy at the peaceful environment ahead of the elections and said they hoped this will continue after the polls.
From 7am on Wednesday, registered voters are expected to cast their ballots at 9 760 polling stations across the country.
The shared view is that the will of the people will prevail and those politicians who managed to win the hearts and minds of the electorate will emerge victorious.
