The head of the Chinese observer mission to Zimbabwe, Mr Liu Guijin, says his delegation was impressed with the way the just ended harmonised elections were held.
The mission, which observed the process at some 60 polling stations in five provinces, said the voters were enthusiastic and the situation was peaceful.
The mission also observed the counting of ballots at various polling stations and said the process should produce a credible result for the people of Zimbabwe.
Mr Liu said the elections should be a turning point for the further development of the country for the fostering of unity among the people of Zimbabwe.
"Bilateral ties between Zimbabwe and China should grow faster and stronger and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries," he said.
Zanu PF national chairman and the party's leader of the elections directorate, Simon Khaya Moyo said Zimbabwe cherishes its friendship with China and that the country would want to learn more about the Asian economic giant's secret to its success.
