The Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU) Sunday said the party "has noted some irregularities and illegalities in the way these elections were held."
In a statement by Mjobisa Noko ZAPU Secretary for Information, Publicity and Marketing, the Dumiso Dabengwa led party said "the whole electoral process was flawed", its leadership and legal advisers are working on challenging this outcome.
ZAPU Press Statement on the results of the 2013 harmonised elections
ZAPU would like to congratulate the people of Zimbabwe for voting in a peaceful manner. Peaceful as it may seem, ZAPU has noted that these elections were not free, fair and credible.
ZAPU has noted some irregularities and illegalities in the way these elections were held. It has also noted that the whole electoral process was flawed and as such the leadership and its legal advisers are working on challenging this outcome.
Please note that reports from provinces are still being compiled and a full press statement will be released as soon as possible.
In this respect ZAPU encourages its members to exercise restraint as we go through this legal process.
Thank you
Mjobisa Noko
