There was no chance to rig, says ZEC

ZEC has dismissed allegations of vote rigging, saying it is impossible as the electoral process is water tight and transparent. Chairperson, Justice Rita Makarau said everything that happens at the polling station is under scrutiny from political parties' agents, observers, polling officers and security authorities.
Asked what makes the process water tight, transparent and full proof, Makarau said the strength of the system lies in the use of transparent ballot boxes to ensure they are empty, the presence of all political parties' agents and the counting of votes at the polling station without transporting the boxes to other areas.
Justice Makarau also dismissed allegations that some ink that was used was fake as it would fade within hours, saying the country did not experience massive spoilt paper among almost 3,5 million people who voted, a clear indication that such stories are unfounded.
