A 22-YEAR-OLD Victoria Falls man has been arrested for allegedly killing a fellow reveller following a dispute over a woman believed to be a prostitute.

The officer commanding Victoria Falls police district, Chief Superintendent Jairos Chiona, confirmed the arrest of Kingstone Ndlovu from Mkhosana Township on allegations of killing Mr Levison Shoko (24) of Chinotimba Township.

He said the incident happened outside a nightclub in Chinotimba Township on Sunday evening.

"I can confirm that we have arrested Kingstone Ndlovu of Mkhosana Township on allegations of murder. He allegedly struck Mr Levison Shoko of Chinotimba Township with a brick on the head following a misunderstanding over a woman on Sunday evening outside Sports Bar Nite Club in Chinotimba Township. Shoko was rushed to Chinotimba District Hospital where he later died," said Chief Supt Chiona.

He said Ndlovu was assisting police with investigations.

According to witnesses, Mr Shoko was in the company of a well-known lady of the night drinking beer at the Sports Bar on the day in question.

They said this did not go down well with Ndlovu who is suspected to have been a regular customer of the woman.

"As Mr Shoko and the lady of the night left the bar for the woman's residence, they came across Ndlovu who started saying something to her. This did not go down well with Mr Shoko who asked what was happening leading to a scuffle between the two men," said the witness.

The witness said Ndlovu picked up a brick and struck Mr Shoko. "Mr Shoko collapsed and was rushed to Chinotimba Hospital where he died. The matter was reported to the police leading to Ndlovu's arrest," he said.
