Book: 'A Guide to the Parliament of Zimbabwe' launched

The Parliament of Zimbabwe has launched a book entitled: "A Guide to the Parliament of Zimbabwe," aimed at bridging the gap between the legislature and the public.
The book details the evolution of the country's parliament, reforms, composition and mandate among other essentials.
Clerk of Parliament Austin Zvoma said the guide is history in the making as it simplifies parliament to the public and new parliamentarians' on the whole parliamentary system.
Guest of honour at the launch, Dr Tendai Chakarisa, who spoke on behalf of the Vice Chancellor of the Women's University in Africa Dr Hope Sadza hailed the publication, but said there is need to translate the guide to cater for people with various needs and levels of literacy.
Since 2007, the guide was funded and compiled by the United Nations Development Programme, National Archives and the Parliament of Zimbabwe and other academics.
The launch was graced by members of the national assemblies of Zambia and Malawi and the SADC Parliamentary Forum.
