President Robert Mugabe has called on Zimbabweans to be patient in their wait for the inauguration of a new government and the president to allow those who want to file complains at the courts in accordance with the country's constitution.

Mugabe, who was speaking at the Zanu PF Politburo meeting on Wednesday, explained to the members why his party prevailed and promised to implement his party's manifesto which hinged on the indigenisation and empowerment policies aimed at uplifting the lives of ordinary Zimbabweans.

President Mugabe said his office has been inundated with congratulatory messages from the whole of Africa with leaders asking when the inauguration will be held so that they can come and express solidarity with Zimbabwe.

Mugabe, however, said the country will have to wait a little longer as the country's constitution provides a seven day period to allow those who might want to challenge the result.

The presidential election result was pronounced last Saturday and it is not clear whether the MDC-T leader will proceed with his challenge of the result.

However, some MDC-T members have openly conceded defeat while those who won have vowed to take their seats in the national house of assembly in defiance of their leader's directive to boycott government business.

Analysts say if Mr Tsvangirai fails to handle the situation, the party might once again travel the route of 2005 when the party split in two on October 12 over the issue of senatorial elections.
