Prophet demands groceries for his services

A Chitungwiza prophet and his aide have come under fire from residents for allegedly demanding groceries for their services.

Madzibaba Knowledge Tachi, who is the shrine leader of Zvakazarurwa Sungonoitsva Yevapositori camped near Manyame College, is under attack from residents over his conduct in healing the sick by the road side.

Instead of demanding cash Madzibaba Knowledge, together with his unidentified aide, are demanding food claiming that he will pray for it (food) before taking some for his personal use.

Items demanded include cooking oil, eggs, milk, salt and olive oil and our News Crew, following a tip off, witnessed Madzibaba feeding on some of the items bought by patients.

Madzibaba Knowledge confirmed the incident claiming that he had powers to heal diseases and he uses items as led by the Holy Spirit. One of the residents said Madzibaba Knowledge is duping desperate patients demanding that they bring food to his shrine.

"What irked me is that he prayed for one of the patients with poor eye sight spitting milk into the eyes before feeding on most of the milk that was meant for the healing exercise. They demand different food stuffs depending with the problem being faced by the patient and to me I suggest that they tell the patients to feed on a balanced diet rather than their false claims," said the residents.

Our News Crew witnessed three women bringing cooking oil bottle's, sterilised milk, eggs and margarine to the road-side shrine. Some of the groceries were used in the cleansing ceremonies carried out.

A young girl asked to cover herself with a cloth before milk was spit into her eyes and that was also done on the second woman before the prophet downed the remaining milk in full view of the passers-by. One woman was asked to sit on a boiled egg as she received prayers for her to conceive.

Contacted for comments Madzibaba Knowledge said he has been healing many people using those food stuffs for some time with positive results.

"Many people are receiving their healing here and I have been doing this for some time and patients confess positive results. I am the leader of this shrine and people are being delivered from kushaya mbereko, miscarriage, evil spirits and spirits mediums. "I do not charge people money only that they but what will have been revealed to me nemudzimu unoyera as I conduct the prayers for different problems," said Madzibaba Knowledge.

He went on to say that they conduct their church service on Sunday only and the remaining days are for healing and casting out of demons. After confirming that their church is not registered with ZINATHA he failed to name the leader of the church claiming that it is registered.
