China commends Zim education policies

The Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Lin Lin has commended Zimbabwe for managing to survive effects of illegal sanctions imposed by the west, a feat he attributed to the country's good education policies.

Mr Lin commended the country's education policies which he said were critical in fighting the effects of the illegal sanctions imposed by the west.

He said this while addressing 25 students and their parents in Harare.

The students were awarded scholarships by the Chinese government to study in China for the next 5 years.

Ambassador Lin told the students to take advantage of the offer to improve their lives and the country at large.

He said the future of Zimbabwe and China's good relations is enhanced through the youths and educational exchange programmes.

Student representatives commended the good relationship that exists between Zimbabwe and China that has enabled them to be awarded scholarships.

The students and parents who attended the farewell reception were treated to Chinese music, dance and puzzle show.

The students are expected to leave for China at the end of this month.
