Thursday declared public holiday for Mugabe's inauguration

The government has declared Thursday the 22nd of August 2013 a public holiday to pave way for Zimbabweans to attend the inauguration of President Robert Mugabe at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.
Briefing journalists at the National Sports Stadium, the Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Ray Ndhlukula said Thursday the 22nd of August 2013 is a public holiday.
Turning to preparations for the inauguration ceremony, Dr Ndhlukula said all is set for the event, adding that international artists have been invited to perform together with local artists.
President Mugabe will be inaugurated after polling over 61 percent of the vote in the 31st of July harmonised elections while his main rival, MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai got 33 percent.
