Wife stabs husband over $2

A Chitungwiza woman is facing attempted a murder charge after she allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife for asking for US$2 to replace his lost cellphone line.
Hazvinei Mandiopera denied the charge when she appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini who remanded her in custody to September 2. She was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
According to the indictment, Mandiopera (30) of number 18251 in Unit L, Chitungwiza had an argument with her husband who had asked for money to buy a cellphone line which cost US$2.
This did not go down well with Mandiopera leading to a heated argument which degenerated into a fist fight.
Mandiopera overpowered her husband, who bolted out of the room with Mandiopera in hot pursuit. The husband fell to the ground and Mandiopera who was armed with a knife stabbed him on the left ribs.
The man was rushed to Chitungwiza hospital where he was admitted. Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa prosecuted.
