Granny (81) hangs self over loneliness

AN 81-year-old woman from Mudzi hanged herself inside her kitchen hut after complaining she was feeling lonely following the death of all her close relatives including her children and husband.
The octogenarian was identified as Keresia Nyambiro of Chiwaka village under Chief Nyakuchena.
According to police, the woman had on several occasions been overheard threatening to commit suicide for being a loner.
On the fateful day, she allegedly told her nephew Phillemon Nyambiro that she wanted to kill herself since her nine children and husband were all dead.
Her body was later found hanging from the roof of her kitchen hut. The matter was reported at Makosa Police Station and the body was taken to Mutoko Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
