The SADC Election Observation Mission has released its report on the harmonised elections held on the 31st of July 2013.
The mission has concluded that the elections were free and fair in that candidates were free to campaign, to associate and free to express their views and the voters were free to cast their votes.
The mission also said the election was generally credible and expressed the will of the people.
The Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Benard Membe said the opposition in Zimbabwe should gracefully accept the result and plan for 2018 elections.
He urged the opposition to join Zanu PF in appealing for the removal of the illegal sanctions imposed on the country by Britain and its allies.
