The fate of workers in the office of the outgoing PM Morgan Tsvangirai, officially employed by the Public Service Commission remains uncertain.

The employees who were housed on 6 floors at Charter House have been moved to MDC-T headquarters, Harvest House, in Harare amid speculation they could be accommodated in other government departments or retired altogether.

The new government does not accommodate the office of the PM, effectively rendering that office and its employees redundant.

Mudenda, the newly elected Speaker of the National Assembly has technically resigned as chairperson for Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission.

Mudenda was on Tuesday elected to be speaker of the 8th Parliament of Zimbabwe, with Marbel Chinomona as his deputy.

Mudenda, a lawyer by profession, said he had no choice but quit heading the first body tasked with investigating human rights violations to take up his legislative role.
