The government has announced that a multi-million five star hotel project to be operational in 2018 will be launched in Harare soon.

According to projections, the development is expected to boost tourism in Zimbabwe as well as enable Harare to become a world class city by 2025.

Speaking after the presentation of the hotel's bankable documents in Harare this Thursday, the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Walter Mzembi said the government is ready to assist in the development of local tourism facilities.

"Definitely, we are ready and we shall do everything best for the development of the country's tourism sector," he said.

Local Government, Rural and Urban Development Minister, Ignatius Chombo said the proposed hotel is an indication that local authorities are committed to the development of land by various investors for the benefit of Zimbabweans.

The proposed five star Hilton hotel is expected to be constructed along Samora Machel Avenue in Eastlea.
