AB Communications, the media company that owns ZiFM Stereo and television production company Mighty Movies, has announced the immediate stepping down of its CEO Supa Mandiwanzira following his appointment as deputy minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services.

AB Communications has also appointed Susan Makore as its new CEO to replace Mandiwanzira.

Makore boasts of extensive experience in broadcasting, having been in the industry for over 15 years and, until her latest appointment, was the Mighty Movies managing director.

Makore was the CEO of Zimbabwe Television from 2003 to 2006.

ZiFM Stereo is Zimbabwe's first and only privately-owned radio station. Its transmission network is spread across a number of urban centres and their surrounding rural areas, including but not limited to: Bulawayo, Gweru, Harare, Mutare, Nyanga, Victoria Falls, Beitbridge, Kadoma, Masvingo and Mutorashanga.

In September 2012, ZiFM Stereo was the first Zimbabwean broadcaster to be awarded an online streaming license, allowing it to reach the millions of Zimbabweans in the diaspora and other global citizens across the world via the internet.
