MDC-T President - Morgan Tsvangirai
A MOLE alleging to be operating from the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) headquarters, Harvest House, is rattling the party with sensational claims of misconduct and other misdemeanors by the party's leadership.
Harvestlikis emerged on facebook shortly after the July 31 polls in which the MDC-T was trounced by Zanu-PF amid rigging claims to offer juicy goings on in former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's party.
Harvestlikis operates along the same lines as Baba Jukwa who hit the scene months before the polls to expose corruption, murder and infighting within Zanu-PF, but the former has not been able to provide contact details or locations of some of the named MDC-T officials like what the latter has been doing.
As of Tuesday, the newly created Harvestlikis had slightly more than 6 700 followers, while Baba Jukwa had 374 425 000 followers.
Harvestlikis has made a number of sensational claims, including proffering reasons why treasurer general Roy Bennett appears to be falling out with the party's leadership.
An information technology expert said it was difficult to flush out internet moles.
"The fluid nature of the internet does not authenticate who you are. It's difficult because people have smart phones, one can go into an internet café and choose to be someone else. The internet removes the element of identity. Tomorrow I can take your name and picture and decide to be you," said the expert.
Meanwhile, the MDC-T last week distanced itself from a Facebook account in the name of Elizabeth Macheka, Tsvangirai's wife saying it was fake. Tsvangirai's spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka warned people against falling prey to it after it began soliciting for money.
