Komichi denied bail for the third time

MDC-T Chief Elections Officer, Morgan Komichi has been denied bail by the courts and will remain in custody as his trial continues.
Komichi's attempt to taste freedom hit another dead end after magistrate Tendai Mahwe denied him bail this Monday afternoon.In his renewed battle for release, Komichi, through his lawyer, Alec Muchadehama was pleading changed circumstances, the weakness of the state's case and his personal circumstances as some of the factors which made him a good candidate for bail.
In opposing the application, state counsel, Mr Michael Mugabe said the changed circumstances militate against Komichi as he had already heard the strong testimonies of 3 witnesses which were likely to force him to abscond.
The presiding magistrate, Mr Tendai Mahwe dismissed the bail application on the basis that it was not in the proper interests of justice for the court to grant Komichi bail. The trial continues with more witnesses testifying.
