The government has warned that any land or farm invasions are illegal and will be dealt with by the law.
The Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Dr Douglas Mombeshora told reporters at a strategic retreat workshop that the ministry faces a lot of challenges as it seeks to address all issues related to the administration and tenure of land in the country.
Dr Mombeshora said while his ministry is working at crafting the Land Commission Bill, any land invasions whether on white or black owned farms are illegal as the issue of redistributing land in Zimbabwe has to be guided by clear cut laws and policies.
Dr Mombeshora also said the ministry faces a number of challenges that include understaffing at the Surveyor General's office, interference in giving land from unauthorised rural district councils and traditional leaders, interference in land issues from politicians and many other issues.
The minister said they will also engage other ministries whose work interlopes with theirs in addressing the challenges related to land administration.
