The Clerk of Parliament, Mr Austin Zvoma, says the new constitution has provisions for Presidential Question and Answer times in the house should the need arise.
Mr Zvoma was answering questions from members of Parliament attending an induction workshop in the capital where he revealed that in line with the provisions of the new constitution, Parliament can now hold question and answer sessions with the President.
The 8th Parliament which came into existence after the 2013 harmonised elections will debate and pass 14 bills, among them the Consumer Protection Bill, the Zimbabwe Quality Standards Regulatory Authority Bill, the Mines and Minerals Bill, the Border Posts Authority Bill and the Savings and Credit Co-operatives Societies Bill.
Zimbabwe operates a bi-cameral system of parliament comprising two houses, the lower house, also known as the National Assembly and the upper house, known as the Senate.
