Donors stop funding MDC-T claims an insider

A MOLE alleging to be operating from the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) headquarters, Harvest House, is rattling the party with sensational claims of party leadership squabbles, financial crisis and other misdemeanors by MDC-T's senior officials.
Harvestlikis, who has been dishing out dirt at free will over the past two months, seems not to be bothered by negative comments that are being posted on his page by both his followers and other members of the public who are mainly MDC-T loyalists.
While Harvestlikis, undoubtedly has been inspired by the 'veteran' and daring government's top secret 'publisher', Baba Jukwa, he (Harvestlikis) however is still legging way behind in terms of support and how 'juicy' his stories are. Baba Jukwa's secrets were way too risky to handle and one would certainly need to be a very senior government official to possess all the information that Baba Jukwa was posting on his Facebook page prior to July 31 elections.
So 'dangerous' was Baba Jukwa's information that it left several men behind bars after insulting President Mugabe and contravening the Postal and Telecommunications Act as Baba Jukwa was dishing out senior government officials' phone numbers on Facebook before urging Zimbabweans to "keep calling and demand answers".
Meanwhile, despite MDC senior officials vehemently denying that their party is in serious leadership and financial crisis, information readily available in the public domain, to a greater extent, corresponds with what Harvestlikis posted on Monday morning.
The self proclaimed opposition party insider alleged that his party is in a serious financial meltdown because their national treasurer, Roy Bennet, has advised their Western donors to 'sanction' the MDC in a bid to force the 3-time presidential election loser, Morgan Tsvangirai, to step down.
"Roy Bennet wants to kill our party gentlepeople. It has emerged that he is the one who stopped our western donors to fund us in a bid to force the captain to step down," said Harvestlikis.
The mole further claimed that, while Westerners agreed to stop funding the troubled political party, the donor countries are however at loggerheads over who should succeed Tsvangirai when he steps down.
"The western donors are amenable to this plot but they are heavily divided over the possible successor of Mr Tsvangirai. Britain, Germany, Sweden and France want Tendai Biti to take over the presidency. On the other hand Canada, US, Australia and Norway believe Elias Mudzuri is a better successor," he said.
Harvestlikis went on to claim that MDC-T Secretary General, who is one of the party's most senior officials in terms of ranking and popularity, is currently being funded by donors who are lobbying for MDC-T's split. It has always been reported that Biti is leading a faction in MDC that seeks to 'oust' Morgan Tsvangirai from the helm of the party, but Biti and Tsvangirai have publicly claimed that such reports are unfounded and a mere 'Pub talk' respectively.
"Biti has a massive support base in Mashonaland Central, Manicaland and Masvingo and he also has the support of the academics. I can confirm that this chap is currently receiving money from local and foreign donors who are sponsoring the split," Harvestlikis said.
Still on factions in MDC, the mole alleged that the party's deputy national chairman, Morgan Komichi who is currently in remand prison and has so far been denied bail for four times (and still counting), is not being visited by members of the MDC National Executive because 'he is a member of the wrong faction'.
"The captain still has the support of the grassroots and trade unionists, most of whom joined the party before the 2005 split. However, in the National Council, Mr Tsvangirai's support has gravely dwindled with only 3 members namely Chamisa, Mwonzora and Komichi, who are still on his side. This is the reason why people are not visiting Komichi, he is in the wrong camp," said Harvestlikis.
Bennet has been accused by the mole of being the 'thunder' behind MDC-T's financial and leadership misfortunes. He is alleged to have started working on forming his own political party, supposedly after failing to push for an immediate dismissal of Tsvangirai. Two weeks ago Bennet openly declared that "Morgan Tsvangirai must go" and since then several other officials including Marondera Central losing candidate, Ian Kay, have echoed the same sentiments.
"On 18 September 2013 Bennet met some local Civic Society Organisations in South Africa where he indicated that he was going to form a new political party very soon. The problem is that he is aware that as a white man, he will not have much appeal, thus he is scouting for a black figure to become the face of the party," Harvestlikis wrote on his Facebook Page.
It is no longer a secret that the opposition party which lost dismally in the just ended harmonised elections is facing some harsh and unexpected financial crisis. The party was in September this year forced to retrench 33 percent of its workers. MDC-T has reportedly already notified the affected staff members that their services are no longer required after the party failed to dislodge Zanu PF from power in the July 31 elections. An official said some of the affected staff members, including departmental heads, had been promised top government positions had the MDC-T won, but all promises went in vain when President Mugabe grabbed a 61% chunk of the votes, with Tsvangirai garnering only 34 percent.
