A Harare woman told the court yesterday that her son-in-law doused himself with paraffin and threatened to set himself ablaze at her residence following an altercation with her daughter.
Anna Sedze said this at the Harare Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against her son-in-law- Trinity Zhange, his mother Shebba and sister Daisy.
"Trinity married my daughter and they had a misunderstanding before she fled to my house. He assaulted my niece and other relatives but the matter was resolved within the family.
"Recently, he came drenched with paraffin and threatened to burn himself at my house. His mother (Shebba) insulted me and Daisy threatened to shoot me and said she could do so since she is a soldier. She said this after I got him arrested," Sedze said.
She further told the court that Shebba was in the habit of labelling her and her daughter prostitutes while Trinity took away wares away she had bought for her stall in Mbare.
The peace order was granted.
