Man fatally assaults lover

Steven Mpofu (28) of Jachi village in Chief Njelele area was arrested Thursday in Gokwe after he fatally assaulted his girlfriend following a misunderstanding over their relationship.

The now deceased Maseko sustained a deep cut on top of her left eye she however did not seek medical attention and later died from injuries at her home in Mapfungautsi.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Mpofu.
